Miniature croissants

Nutella stuffed croissants and braided bread.

There might be numerous chocolate spread available but none tastes like nutella. It is one of my favourite chocolate spread among all others. Nutella is chocolate-hazelnut spread. Its a combination of rich creamy chocolate and nuts that soothes your taste buds. Meanwhile I thought why not make a Nutella stuffed croissants.

Results were amazing! So delicious and so easy. The outer crust of croissant was golden brown and the inside was oozing with Nutella. It’s absolutely easy and quick. Simply spreading Nutella on each uncooked croissant roll or any shape as per choice. Rolling it up and then baking it. That’s it Voila!
The braided design of the bread was surprisingly easy to make and looks beautiful too.

Here I’ve tried two shapes of croissants

  1. Nutella stuffed croissant ring
  2. Braided croissant

Croissants definitely brings out your creativity and designing skills.

This bread is perfect for tea parties and impressing your guests with your clever abilities to make complicated braided breads that are stuffed with creamy chocolate goodness. They can be enjoyed both warm or cold, and are great as a little treat or dessert.

It only takes three ingredients to make this simple and delicious Mini Nutella Croissants. I prefer dough for this bread by hand, because there’s something so homely about it. I love the feel of the dough against my hands.

Ingredients

  • Nutella
  • Egg yolk
  • dough

Ingredients for dough

  • 1 cup all-purpose/plain flour
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp instant yeast
  • pinch of baking powder
  • milk and water for kneading

Instruction

1. For croissant ring

Roll the dough in to rectangle/oval shape.
cut in to strips on one side. Paste a Nutella spread on the opposite side where the strips have been cut. Gentle seal the dough over the filling. Then roll and shape into croissants ring

2. For braided croissant

Roll the dough in to rectangle shape. Cut both sides in to strips carefully leaving the middle portion for filling. After filling, wrap the strips on each side as in placing one strips over the other just to give the shape of braid. And it’s done .

Preheat the oven on medium high (around 175 degrees) and in the meantime, glaze the croissants with egg yolk to add some color and shine. Bake until golden brown, about 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven and serve immediately.

Note: In addition to Nutella, you could add sliced bananas, strawberries, different flavors of jam, peanut butter or even marshmallows to the croissants for an even more indulgent breakfast or dessert.

Miniature real food

Unlike today’s kids, growing up back then was an entirely different ball game. We were never really glued to ipad, social media and virtual games. I can probably say that we were pretty tomboyish and adventurous for girls. We indulged in most of the outdoor activities and sports like cricket, badminton etc.

Not having grown up playing with dolls, I can’t really understand the appeal of doll house and fancy girly toys. However, I do appreciate pretty realistic craftsmanship.

Currently i have been obsessed with a miniature meals. Those tiny cute little things that fascinates me the most. while it looks incredibly realistic, delicious and eye pleasing . It sure looks good enough to eat, But the harsh reality is that we have been fooled, most of miniature food is made out of polymer clay.!. We can’t eat those cute mini food, that’s when struck me to give it a go to mini version of real food.

Even though we can’t cook every food in miniature size but we can surely cook something delicious for a little munchkin in your house. Not to forget that this can be a really entertaining and enjoyable activity for your kids. As my daughter is a very picky eater. Why not give a try to those mini things which will look cute yet eye pleasing at the same time I could feed my baby.

I have very fond memories of my childhood. I can still recall the days when my mum used to prepare chapati/flat bread for us as she does even now. She would smartly give me a small portion of dough, so that I could play out of it. I remember making those tiny little chapati/flat bread and urge my mum to fry those. And i used to eat those tiny, unshaped rotis/flat bread with much pride and joy. It was definitely a sense of achievement for me as a kid. Even today I follow the same activity. I give a small portion of dough to my lil one so that she lets me cook peacefully.☺

MINI SOFT TACOS

Here I made Mexican-inspired dish called Mini Tacos and nutella stuff croissant.

From quick after-school snacks to crowd pleasing party platters and convenient lunch and dinner ideas. Mini Tacos and croissants are perfect anytime. So I decided that I had to make my own version.
These were so much easier than I thought they were going to be. Because miniature food is always more fun.

The tortillas I used flour because I wanted to bake these tacos. Whenever I bake corn tortillas for taquitos they tend to crack.
So I usually go for flour, they’re a bit sturdier.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 pound skinless, boneless chicken
  • 2 inch white flour tortillas home made
  • 1 cup thin sliced cabbage
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese

For tortilla

  • Plain flour
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Warm water
  • Pinch of baking soda

Instruction

  • For making tortilla Knead the dough by adding salt, sugar, water and a pinch of baking soda. Keep aside for half an hour
  • Meanwhile dough tends to rise a bit. Make a round shape roti/flat bread and bake for few minutes
  • For filling combine first 4 ingredients in a small bowl; rub spice mixture over chicken
  • Place chicken on grill rack coated with cooking spray/oil ; grill 10 minutes on each side or until done. Let stand 5 minutes; chop
  • Heat tortillas as per your liking. I prefer soft. Divide chicken evenly among tortillas; top each tortilla with thin sliced cabbage and 1 teaspoon cheese. Serve with sour cream, if desired.

Note: My recipe ingredients is based upon normal size fillings. You can make it to any miniature size according to your preference

Galaxy mojito

Well this is my first blog. I am completely a newbie in this blogging world. From past few weeks I have been doing some unusual stuff. I have been doing varieties of cooking though cooking is not my forte. I didn’t grow up cooking. My culinary skills were extremely limited and now i am engaged in to it so much, i somehow found myself starting to, well, actually enjoy cooking.

Meanwhile one of my cousin suggested me blogging and at that particular point of time I just ignored her as it was completely stepping out of my comfort zone. But after a couple of days just thought why not give a try.You cant be perfect like other bloggers. But I believe somehow or the other no one is perfect. And it says practice makes perfect and I strongly believe in it.let’s just come straight to the point.

Well everyone loves to spend time by themselves. Spend some quality time doing something that really fulfills you.Sometimes you just need to disconnect and enjoy your own company. And its ‘ME TIME’ where we find peace , innerstrength. ‘Me’ time is just important as ‘us’ time. It’s actually one of the healthiest things that you can do for yourself and for those you love and care for. so that’s when I came up to this idea.

I’ am no master mixologist by any stretch of the imagination, but I do know how to make a few basic milkshakes and cool refreshing drinks – and the ones I do know how to make, I allegedly do quite well. Consequently, I often get asked to make (non-alcoholic)drinks whenever family rolls around. Here I made two different drinks looks different yet very similar ingredients.

1. Blueberry Galaxy Mojito
2. Sparkling Berries Lemonade

Firstly lets talk about Blueberry Galaxy mojito. Unnaturally blue cocktail is always a hit. So I created a bright blue drink with no Alcohol. Sparkling blueberry Galaxy mojito. It’s super sweet, a little tangy, and bursting with blueberry flavor. This drink starts with making a blueberry simple syrup — just sugar, water, and of course blueberries. Once the berries have burst, you strain the mixture which becomes the blueberry syrup and base of this recipe.

That syrup gets mixed with freshly squeezed lemons and sparkling water, and that is it. Fill up a glass with some crushed ice, fill it up with the best ever sparkling blueberry mojito, and stay cool in that crazy heat! And yes I infused some mix of berries i.e (strawberries, blackberries and blueberries )in to ice tray and its just look more beautiful, vibrant and refreshing colorful ice cubes

Ingredients

1/4 cup white sugar (superfine is best)
1 and 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (~4-5 whole large lemons)
1 drop of blue food color
2 cups crushed ice
3 cups sparkling water or club soda

Instructions

Fill the ice tray with water adding a drop of blue food color and freeze overnight

Combine the sugar, water, blueberries in a saucepan.

Bring to a boil over medium heat and then simmer for 5-10 minutes or until the sugar is melted and blueberries are starting to burst.

Remove from the heat and pass through a fine sieve. Let this blueberry syrup completely cool.

Meanwhile, crushed the blue colored ice cubes in a blender then juice the lemons to get 1 cup lemon juice.

In a glass add the, lemon juice, and blue crushed Ice
Stir in the sparkling water or club soda.
Lastly holding spatula upright position in to glass carefully pour the blueberry syrup beneath. So as to get the effect of changing color. And the result will be kind off purplish-bluish color.

Enjoy immediately.

Note

If you don’t plan on drinking this all in 1 day, keep the juice (blueberry syrup + lemon juice) separate from the sparking water.

Sparkling Berries lemonade recipe will be up on my next post Inshallah. Until then Ciao!
